I am a Detroit-based textile artist and small business owner. My work has been focused on my product-based business of naturally dyed home goods and accessories over the last seven years. I've been teaching classes on sewing and natural dyes for the past six years and more regularly the past three. I realized that my passion lies more in sharing about the craft of fiber art than creating products to sell. I love building community and creating an environment of creative collaboration in my classes. In 2022 I completed an artist residency with Arqutopia in Oaxaca, Mexico with a master dyer and weaver. This residency was a magical experience and really helped me focus on my own process and creativity outside of my business. Recently, I have been focusing on my own fine art practice and building a portfolio of quilts and wall hangings. I am excited to build up my own work and focus on education and my own art practice.
