Welcome to the Stomping Ground Family
Summer 2025
Hiya!
We are so grateful that you are part of the Stomping Ground community. Each year your campers create the world that is Stomping Ground. This place is just a place until they fill it with their laughter, big ideas, and capacity for beautifully messy relationships. We imagine a world together where kids are the decision makers, conflict leads to connection, and no idea is too outrageous.
Love,
Maddy

Refund Policy
Well before camp begins, The Stomping Ground has already sunk costs into facilities, staff, and other requirements in preparation for your camper. For this reason, The Stomping Ground has a firm withdrawal deadline, April 1st. Deposits are non refundable after this deadline.
Refunds will be issued (minus the deposit after payment deadline) only if we fill the vacancy with another eligible, tuition-paying camper and it is approved by the Board of Directors.
Medical Forms
For campers to be at camp, New York State mandates that we have an up-to-date, within the last 18 months, physical form* from a doctor. For our medical team to be allowed to administer medicine, we need this form as well as immunization records to be completed, and for all medicine to come to camp in its original containers.
There are 4 forms to complete and upload (above).
*If your doctor has a different physical form or you have one for school or sports those work as well. But we still need permission to administer medication, even over the counter medicine.
Due in full April 1st or June 15th if you are on a monthly payment plan. If at all possible, we ask that you use an eCheck to pay for your session, it helps us save on processing fees.
Lice Policy for Overnight Summer Camp
To ensure a healthy and enjoyable experience for all campers, we have established the following lice polcy:
-
All campers must be free of live lice and nits before arriving at camp. We strongly recommend that parents/guardians conduct a thorough lice check within 48 hours prior to arrival.
-
Upon arrival, all campers will undergo a lice screening conducted by trained camp staff.
If live lice or nits are found during this screening, the camper will not be permitted to stay at camp and must return home for lice treatment.
-
Campers who are sent home for lice treatment may return to camp only when they are completely free of live lice and nits.
A professional lice treatment verification or a re-screening by camp staff is required before the camper can rejoin the camp session.
-
Refunds for lice-related absences are not available.
If space permits, families have the option to transfer their registration to a later session during the summer. This transfer is subject to availability and must be arranged through the camp administration.
-
We encourage parents/guardians to educate their children about the importance of not sharing personal items such as hats, brushes, or hair accessories.
Camp staff will continue to monitor for lice throughout the camp session and take appropriate actions if necessary.
By adhering to this policy, we aim to maintain a lice-free environment and ensure the well-being of all campers. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

The 3 Agreements
Respect yourself and others.
Protect the future of camp.
Talk about conflict when it arises.
Please watch this video with your child. Everything we do at camp is focused on first getting consent. To do that we want to make sure, as best we can, that campers want to be at Stomping Ground and understand our three agreements to be a member of our community. They are: respect yourself and others, protect the future of camp, and work through conflict when it arises. You can see more about our restorative justice conflict resolution process here.
Camp is often explained to potential campers and staff as a place where ‘you don’t really get in trouble.’ While that sounds like chaos, it really more accurately describes the type of world we want to live in. We aim to combat the punitive systems often held out as ‘justice’ and instead restore relationships among one another. We hold each other accountable through structured and honest dialogue both before and when conflict arises. This means that kids who have often found themselves kicked out of other spaces find a home here in their second chances.
