We’re looking for someone who will be a cornerstone of our community- someone ready to build trust-based, authentic relationships with campers and staff. This role is all about fostering growth through play, creating space for connection through conflict, and nurturing a camp environment where everyone is encouraged to be their best, most curious selves.

We’re taking a community-centered approach to hiring the next camp director, involving a diverse group of campers, staff, and parents on our hiring committee. We want to ensure that every voice is heard and that the decision we make is one that benefits our entire community.

Tell everyone we're hiring.
Officially launch the job post across a wide range of platforms. While we plan to share it with our camp community, we also aim to reach candidates outside our usual networks.

Get to know our applicants.
Collect applications from passionate, driven individuals who believe in our mission. Solidify our hiring committee. Talk to references and start the screening process.

Find the right person.
Interview and discuss remaining candidates. Work with hiring committee to ensure that we're considering individuals who align with Stomping Ground's values.

Onboard our new director.
Our goal is to offer someone a job by the end of November. This will allow us to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition into the role and shadow Maddy.
