The WHOLE Facebook Fiasco

Welp. I already know what you are thinking:

How could we let all those followers go! Why didn’t we try harder to get them back? We must collectively know someone high up at FB headquarters that could help us out.

I get it. Believe me I am just as frustrated as you. Let me give you some background context and then tell you what we have done and are doing to try and make it right.

In 2020 our business manager account got hacked. It was a rather large hack and Facebook locked down a bunch of the abilities for us to add other accounts as admin. We worked with our board chair who has direct connections with Facebook to try and regain total access and control of our page. We spent 2 years trying to untangle it.

In 2020 the remaining accounts that did have posting access lost that capability. So then we had no way to engage the 4k audience that we had built over the 8 years of SG history.

The Stomping Ground board and leadership decided that it was time to start from scratch so that we could start posting events, sharing content and communicating with our families.

We are not giving up!

We are still working with Facebook Support to try and regain access. But in the meantime I know that our Stomping Ground community is resilient and we will rise to the challenge. It is sad to have lost an audience, but there is opportunity in starting from scratch!
