Emily Dangott
Emily Dangott is an Oklahoma-based interdisciplinary artist creating work composed of the visual, auditory, and olfactory sensory exploration of the human experience, the body as a vessel, and existentialism within a feminine context. She engages with the act of becoming a symbol of these ideas through the inclusion of her own body in many of her performance works.
Due to the expansive scope of thoughts and viewpoints that stem from these concepts, she directs her work to explore the detailed, modest segments that make up the much larger, ever-changing abstraction of existence. Furthermore, presenting ideas regarding how the human species interacts with its existence. Emily recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in Art, Technology, and Culture and is actively preparing her portfolio for graduate school.
Emily’s goal is to utilize diverse elements of nature to expose the contradictions of the human species. She strives to communicate those concepts to her audience through performance, tangible, and time-based media and spark vital connections and intimate conversations between herself and her audience.
